At first glance the Secretary to the PCC at St. Barnabas Church appeared highly efficient, kept the meeting moving along and her name was Hilary. However, this Hilary clearly had those attributes but was far more than that. She had a keen sense on what was important, what actions needed to be taken and by whom. She had a wonderful knack of keeping people informed and gently reminding them of their responsibilities. She was more than capable of taking notes as well as contributing to everything on the agenda. There was often a lot to discuss and quite often the meetings dragged on quite a bit. However, we all had to learn to wait for Hilary to speak to us at the closing of the meeting. Often she had received something during her personal prayer time, had written it down and had prayed over it again. It had usually not been on the agenda so Hilary had not interrupted the meeting but, in her quiet  and humble manner, brought the matter to our attention for our consideration. It was often significant as it had come directly from the Lord! What an asset Hilary was at that time in St. Barnabas as well as being such a lovely lady!                           Just some fond memories of Hilary! Sandy and Valerie Wright.
